Q1. B) Please provide details regarding your response to Question 1A:
Q5. Is there additional evidence on any other health effects of water fluoridation that should be considered in the draft Information Paper?:

Yes. The NHMRC's analysis on the neurotoxic risks from fluoride exposures in fluoridated communities is at odds with well established tenets of risk assessment, both in its whole-sale dismissal of toxicological findings from animal studies (including animal studies finding neurotoxic effects at low fluoride concentrations), and in its discounting of human population studies involving modestly elevated exposures to fluoride. Further, the NHMRC has placed undue weight and confidence in the study by Broadbent et al. (2015). We discuss each of these issues in far greater detail at: http://www.fluoridealert.org/uploads/NHMRC_Brain_Comments.pdf. We would have posted this analysis here, but the formatting is lost in the process (which makes it very difficult to read) and the figures are omitted. For purposes of clarity and completeness, therefore, we are providing our comments at the aforementioned link.

Q6. Is there any other supporting material relevant to making decisions on water fluoridation in the Australian context that should be considered in the draft Information Paper?:

See response to Question 5 above.
