I believe it is very important to include the use of Milk Bank milk in the infant feeding guidelines. Pasteurized human milk from donors is again becoming available and has many advantages over formula . It needs to be included in these guidelines as a realistic and safe option for mothers when their own supply is insufficient. I believe all maternity hospitals should consider the possibility of having their own milk bank or making milk bank milk available as a choice for mothers to use when their supply is not enough. The order of preference should be ! Breastfeed 2 mothers own expressed milk 3 Pasteurized milk bank milk and then 4 formula
