Public Consultation on the NHMRC Draft Principles of Peer Review

NHMRC is responsible for managing the Australian Government’s investment in health and medical research.  We have a responsibility for ensuring that the tax-payer’s funds are invested wisely and fairly.  NHMRC has a reputation for the fairness and transparency of its processes, which are subject to ongoing review and improvement.

NHMRC Draft Principles of Peer Review have been developed to provide assurance to government, the research and broader community and inform all our processes. Increasing grant application numbers and peer review load and reducing operational resources mean we need to find more efficient and effective ways of achieving peer review outcomes without compromising our high standards and reputation.  

You are invited to make a submission to the NHMRC about the draft document.
