The NHMRC is keen to ensure that the Australian community has the best opportunity to participate in developing NHMRC reports. This page lists the closed public consultations.

Public consultation on the draft Guidelines for the breeding, care and use of genetically modified and cloned animals for scientific purposes. The draft guidelines incorporates notes for investigators, Animal Ethics Committees and animal care staff on the breeding, care and use of genetically modified and cloned animals for scientific purposes.

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is Australia 's peak body for the provision of advice to improve individual and population health, consideration of ethical issues in health and health research, and fostering medical research in the interest of improving health standards for all Australians.

This document has been prepared by the Animal Welfare Committee (AWC), a sub-committee of Research Committee (RC). RC is one of the principal committees of the NHMRC.

Submissions are invited from a wide range of interested individuals, organisations, state and federal governments, and professional bodies. These comments are used to finalise a document which is based on the best available evidence, and is relevant and useful to the target group.
