DRAFT - National Guidance on Collaborative Maternity Care

Closed on Tuesday, 27 April 2010, 12:00am (AEDT). Submissions are no longer being accepted.

The draft National Guidance on Collaborative Maternity Care has been released for public consultation.

NHMRC was commissioned by the Department of Health and Ageing to undertake this work as part of the national maternity reform activities.

Clarity about how to establish and maintain collaborative practice for all maternity care providers will be essential in ensuring the success of new arrangements. It will be of particular relevance for the newly defined eligible midwives. Successful collaboration should improve access, choice, quality and safety for all pregnant women and their communities.

Submissions are invited from interested individuals, organisations and colleges.

How to make a submission

The draft Guidance can be downloaded below or obtained from Sarah Blackledge on (02) 6217 9402.

Electronic submissions are strongly preferred. If this is not possible, please make your submission in writing (preferably typed) and submit it by mail to the address below.

Please ensure that the author of the submission and organisation (if applicable) is clearly stated.
