Public consultation on the draft posters and information sheets to accompany the 5th edition Staying healthy – Preventing infectious diseases in early childhood education and care services

Following the release of the 5th edition of Staying healthy – Preventing infectious diseases in early childhood education and care services (Staying Healthy) on 5 February 2013, the NHMRC is seeking comment on a series of draft posters and information sheets that will accompany the 5th edition of Staying Healthy.

Posters

The draft posters are for use in early childhood education and care services and provide advice on:

  • Changing a nappy without spreading germs
  • Recommended minimum exclusion periods
  • How to wash hands
  • How to use alcohol-based hand rub
  • The chain of infection
  • The role of hands in the spread of infection

Information sheets

These draft information sheets are for educators to give to parents that provide advice on:

  • What causes infection
  • Breaking the chain of infection
  • Exclusion periods

All the information in the posters and information sheets has been taken directly from the 5th edition of Staying Healthy.
