Following the release of the 5^th edition of Staying healthy – Preventing infectious diseases in early childhood education and care services (Staying Healthy) on 5 February 2013, the NHMRC is seeking comment on a series of draft posters and information sheets that will accompany the 5^th edition of Staying Healthy.

Posters

The draft posters are for use in early childhood education and care services and provide advice on:

• Changing a nappy without spreading germs
• Recommended minimum exclusion periods
• How to wash hands
• How to use alcohol-based hand rub
• The chain of infection
• The role of hands in the spread of infection

Information sheets

These draft information sheets are for educators to give to parents that provide advice on:

• What causes infection
• Breaking the chain of infection
• Exclusion periods

All the information in the posters and information sheets has been taken directly from the 5^th edition of Staying Healthy.
